40 years on the Innsbruck Spring Fair

In 1985, we attended the Innsbruck Spring Fair for the first time to present and to sell our wines. That was a significant date, because the first day of the fair happened to coincide with the first press reports about the big Austrian wine scandal that had just come to light at the time. One can imagine what interesting conversations this led to. But we were not involved after all, and so the first fair was a nice success already

All that was 40 years ago, so we are celebrating a round trade fair birthday. Since then, we have met many people at the show, quite a few of whom have become good friends over the years. That’s why we still enjoy being here! A lot has changed in four decades - wines, customers and the whole world. The then young winemakers Hans and Renate are now retired, but are still very active in the business and at trade fairs. Their children Andreas and Kathrin now run the winery and have their own families. We will see how things continue - perhaps for another 40 years.

To mark our anniversary, we will not only be presenting fine wines at our stand, but will also bringe along some delicacies from the Burgenland. We’ll also offer the opportunity to take part in a guessing competition. Prices will be a wine tasting at our winery including an overnight stay in Gols, as well as magnum bottles of Canopus and Capella.
