Vintage 2003

Current Wines | Other Vintages

Wines of the vintage 2003, a year of extremes! A remarkable hot spring and summer lead to previously unknown ripe grapes in August and the harvest started as early as never before. We harvested the Pinot Noir on August the 23rd and the other whites and reds followed quickly thereafter. Only this very early harvest allowed us to yield fruity and lively white wines without too high alcohol content altough still fuller-bodied than in an average year. The reds however turned out with full color, high alcohol content, rich tannins and opulent bodies. Fine fruity flavours where not so present but the wines were ideally suited for Barrique development and offered great ageing potential.
