Current Wines | Wines from 2004

A bottle of Blaufränkisch

Blaufränkisch is a very old traditional Austrian red wine variety and one of the most precious we have. Its main characteristic lies in the pronounced fruitiness which very few other varieties are able to approach. Other distinctive qualities are an appealing tannin level, an inspiring acidity and the noticable effect of the soil on the overall appearance. Blaufränkisch wines are famous for their drinkability which they are able to prove at many opportunities.

Tasting notes

Our dry Blaufränkisch 2004 shows a beautiful deep red colour. The Bouquet is ditinctively fruity. It is tender-tart on the palate, still exceptionally fruity and pleasing to drink.

Food suggestion

Blaufränkisch is an ideal table wine and suits to a wide range of dishes.

Ageing potential

Reaches its optimum 1-2 years after the harvest. Can be kept for 4-5 years.
