Blaufränkisch 2006

Current Wines | Wines from 2006

A bottle of Blaufränkisch

Blaufränkisch is a very old traditional Austrian red wine variety and one of the most precious we have. Its main characteristic lies in the pronounced fruitiness which very few other varieties are able to approach. Other distinctive qualities are an appealing tannin level, an inspiring acidity and the noticable effect of the soil on the overall appearance. Blaufränkisch wines are famous for their drinkability which they are able to prove at many opportunities.

Tasting notes

Our dry Blaufränkisch 2006 shimmers in a beautiful red color and shows violet-blue reflexions. The pronounced fruity bouquet reminds on dark wild berries and goes harmonically with its tender-tart aromatic flavour. It is not too heavy and very palatable to drink.

Food suggestion

This Blaufränkisch is always an ideal companion at the table for a wide range of dishes

Ageing potential

Reaches its optimum 1-2 years after the harvest. Can be kept for 4-5 years.
